Sitcom stars are almost always the ones to start a trend. Sure, rock stars come out with a cool look and movie stars are seen by millions but TV stars are always seen the most consistently.
We saw Jennifer Aniston’s haircut more than we saw our own in the mirror during her Friends run, so it wasn’t shocking that half of America ran out to get the “Rachel” in the 90’s.
Personally I could never pull in off, even when I was less “follically challenged”. That’s why this interview really hit home. BEFORE “the Rachel” was ever thought of, there was “Blair Hair”. Lisa Whelchel drove hair dressers across the world NUTS just by being the stylish one on The Facts Of Life each and every week. You look back now and say “How the heck did that hair get out of the house” let alone a TV set but it was the 80’s. We thought walking around dressed like a human highlighter was cool. Blair Warner was and is an ICON. Women across the world wanted THAT hair… whichever style she was sporting during the eight seasons it was live on the air.
