Sometimes when you interview two people at once, it can get confusing. When your guests are in front of you, it’s easier because you can direct a question to each person using eye contact although even that can get futile at times. On the phone, you really have to make it a point to personalize the question. I had Patricia Heaton on the phone the other day who we all grew up watching on Everybody Loves Raymond, and her husband David Hunt who’s an amazing actor and you really have to be careful to not just ask a blanket question and get three people talking at the same time.
We can listen to that at family dinner. I was lucky that they were pros and this interview went very smoothly. It could have easily been a trainwreck. Let me know what you think.
