Last-Minute Work-Safe Halloween Costumes!

The forecast is calling for rain on Halloween, so here are some last minute work-safe costume ideas and accessories if you’re planning to dress up.

  • Mary Poppins: Grab a black umbrella, little red bow-tie and hat with a band of flowers and do your best Julie Andrews impression (or, if you saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, you could be Yondu!).
  • Fisherman: Wear a bright yellow rain jacket, hat and boots and carry a stuffed fish.
  • Weatherman: Wear a suit, carry a microphone and umbrella, and trade forecasts for candy.
  • Jellyfish or spider: Attach streamers to the bottom of your umbrella as tentacles or legs.
  • Bat: Make your wings out of a cut-up umbrella, and use your arms to cover your head between houses.
  • Tightrope walker: Wear a leotard and tutu, carry an umbrella and try to walk one foot in front of the other.
  • Witch: Paint your face green, wear all black and opt for the witch hat with the widest brim (then again, we all know happened to the Wicked Witch of the West when she came in contact with water, so maybe that’s not the best idea…).
  • Raining cats and dogs: Glue stuffed dogs and cats to your umbrella.
  • Gnome: Wear a brightly colored rain coat and boots, fake beard and pointy hat.
  • Little Red Riding Hood: Wear a red rain coat or poncho and collect candy with a picnic basket.
  • The Penguin from Batman: all you need is a suit, monocle and umbrella.
