Queens man faces fine for jumping from Fire Island ferry

The  man who leapt into the Great South Bay off the deck of a Fire Island ferry is facing a $2,500 fine. Officials confirmed there is an ongoing U.S. Coast Guard investigation into the incident .

The jumper, a 24-year-old man from Queens, jumped ship as it neared the dock in Bay Shore on the Fourth of July. The incident was captured on cellphone footage and uploaded to a host of social media sites.
